The Traveling Sponge

Sorry for another post, but being on here got me thinking. I have a sponge who is moving! He started out on the bottom of the rock, but now has moved towards to the top of the rock. I didn't know sponges could migrate. My camera battery is charging but I'll take a pic when its done. IS THIS NORMAL?!
Its the sponge on the left, right next to his twin. The twin is in the same spot, but the traveling sponge has moved about four inches

Yep, sponges move. Usually they move to the bottom of rocks, though. LOL! Because it is moving to the light and not away, I would question if it is in fact a sponge.

Ay caramba! I assumed it was a sponge! What else could it be? Its the green, round thing with spikes coming out....

aponges are considered sessile in most cases, but a few can move despite that fact, albeit slowly.
the sponge may just be moving to get to a more desirable flow region. toward or away from the light may not matter if the conditions are more preferrable to the sponge.
the creatures in the pictures do appear to be sponges.

Dr Ray Stantz: Of course you forget, Peter. I was present at an undersea, unexplained mass sponge migration.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Ray, the sponges migrated about a foot-and-a-half.
