Theres a small parasitic worm on the head of my eel. The eel seems fine, but I really want to get rid of the worm. Oh, and I need help identifying my eel. I thought it was a snowflake, but it does not have a white mouth. It has brown and white stripes with freckles on top. The stripes are not defined, there kind of 'broken'. Tiger eel maybe?
10 gal tank
2lbs of live rock
1 10" unknown eel
1 disgusting little parasitic worm:confused:

I can't post pics. I got everything last saturday. The guy at the fish store gave ten gal of water straight from the eel tank. I noticed the worm on the lower jaw of the eel shortly after I setup the tank, but the worm is brown like the eel and I thought it was part of the eel. the worm is really small, maybe a 1/4". A couple days later it was on its upper jaw! Thats when I found out it was a worm. Right now the eel is fine and dandy. It eats everything I feed it and seems pretty active for an eel. I'll try using tweezers, but would netting the eel be safe?
How much more rock should I get? Is too much rock bad? I taped up the cover of my tank as soon I read the replies, and I put in the ornamental rock I had when the tank was still setup for freshwater. I have no water testing equipment.
Thanks for the advice, if everything goes well I'll be able to get a bigger tank. possibly 55gal
