No A/C here either. Half a million dollar home and it has no A/C.

It does, however, have a ton of cheap, contractor grade, drafty windows.
Most of which have a fan running full blast in front of them.

It has cooled off nicely this evening though. Yahoo weather says It's gonna cool down for a while now. Goodbye Santa Annas.

Half a million?? Whoa!!

Yeah we could only afford one fan.

It's really not that bad for southern california. Like you (your parents actually) we rented for a long time because we simply could not afford to buy a house here. We prayed about it, and feel that our prayers were answered. There is no logical way we should have been approved.
Anyway, it was not quite 500,000. I rounded up to dramatize the fact it had no A/C. Here's a pic...

It's really pretty!!
And yeah, not my parents...they're divorced, I'm 20 and just moved here from Chicago in January, I have two room mates. And yeah considering SoCal, not that bad. The house next door to us is selling for 2.5 million.

i can get pretty hot here in jersey, yet also quite frigid.
but the problem we have is the dirty tourists from "that state" that clog our highways and pollute our beaches with "how youuuuuu doin" all summer long.
thats why i <3 september. the tourists go home, and we jersians can finally enjoy our beaches.

Heck, your place looks like a palace compared to my parent's half million dollar house up in Santa Ana. If the termites ever quite holding hands the place will be a pile of rubble.

$500K... how many square feet is that? Crazy what real estate costs in California. My house is over 3000 sq. ft. and was under $300K. I guess it's not so bad living in a depressed economy.

It has been great this year, I still haven't turned on my AC! But something is screwed up when my house is more humid than outside. In houston.

We havent talked about the housing "crisis" or hookers yet.

Is this our fault?
Are they really a problem?

Our place rolls in at a mere 1384sf. It needed all the carpet removed as every square inch was doggie stained. ******** paint was horrendous and it needed drywall repair throughout. So we fixed walls and painted every square inch of the ********. The garage door was broken so we replaced it. Sink and shower fixtures all leaked. Cabinets are next. The finish is peeling off from water damage and some of the base cabinets are rotten from water damage. It was a rental from day one...never owner occupied. It had 20 years of abuse and neglect. That is why we got a good deal on it. That and buying after the housing market fell.
