It's 69 degrees in the living room and I feel a tad bit chilly. (20ft+ ceiling)
Do I bump the thermostat up from 67 or leave it be?
How warm/cold is it in your home?
At what temp do you keep the T-stat set?
Is every member of your family comfortable or do you have "warm" and/or "cold" people in your home?

We would freeze to death at 62.
You're single, right?
Oh and the summer thermostat setting doesn't really matter in our house...no A/C. As long as the windows work, we are doing ok.

My family would be building fires in the living room like cavemen!

Me included....
ps... the heat just came on at 69 so we must have fallen to 68. (yes, I turned it up a few minutes ago)

we keep it warmer when we sleep... 70. During the day, we put it down to 65
In the summer, if it gets in the mid 70's inside, we turn on the A/C.

This is interesting.
We tend to do the opposite...lower at night. We hunker down like Eskimos at night. I was just chilly so I raised it. Usually it's my wife that is cold.
None of us really like to wear long sleeves.
We don't really need A/C, but my wife's mother and grandmother came to visit last summer, so we bought a couple window units for them. We only turned them on a couple times all summer. I generally stays pretty comfy in the summer here.
How do you like your new place, Nick?

Is it cold down your way tonight, Socal? I'm FREEZING! Our therostat isn't even on. The heater gets turned on maybe 5 days out of the year and we don't have AC.

We've had a pretty steady breeze off the ocean that has been downright cold today...and it rained this morning, too.
We get a little colder down here than you guys do. I don't know why. 2 years ago the pipes froze at work in Pacific Beach. turned on the water and nothing came out. After the sun was out a couple hours it started to flow.
You're near Redondo Beach, right? I think I read that in one of your threads a long time ago.

Ya, I live in Torrance. The wind was BITTER, so that I didn't even go down to the pier to get the fish fresh food today. They are getting supermarket fish fare this week.

Ah, yes...I remember the discussion about the Kmart, now. Cold and windy all over Socal today.

It's awesome up here in Vaca. I love it. Though I'm told the summers are torturously hot.
As for cold temp's in the home, everyone just needs to get a snuggie. LOL

67 during the winter when we're home. 60 at night and during the day when we're at work. In the summer I usually try to stay around 74-75.

Pun intended?

72 in the winter and 74 in the summer as a rule of thumb. I like to be comfortable in the house -- have a cold blooded wife, new baby -- parrots... so I don't mind paying to keep the house warmer or cooler.
If I was single I'd drop the heat in the winter but I hate being hot so probably keep it at 74 in the summer.
Although spring/fall I usually just keep the windows open

Hey, aren't you the one with the $900 power bill? Have you figured out how it gets so expensive each month?
