Things are flowing now

I just rebuilt my closed loop, moved the AM3K over to sump return (finally got rid of those POJ Mag pumps) Replaced the AM3K with a Sequence Barracuda, added 3 more intlets, two from the CL and one from the sump return...I feel like the tanks ready to fly away things are going so fast. I figure I'm doing about 6000-7000 gph if you include the POJ Sieo's.

The good thing is you can't tell that much water is moving (probably cause I have no polyp extension) makes me want to run out and get a Frogspawn:thinking:

FWIW, this pump makes more noise then the AM3k.. I think the AM3K is 1/15 HP and this pump is 1/4hp..It sure puts out a lot more gph but then it uses twice the juice.
I've always like my AM3k but this pump is in a whole other world.

Jimmy, my tank looks better from the back then the front. Some of my buds tell me I'm trying to hard. For some reason I can't get this tank to "shine" I've pretty much replaced everything but the LR. If things don't improve that will be next.
Here's a full shot of the "works" There's a 30 gal fraggrow out tank under the main tank and a 40 gal sump on the end. You can't see it but there's a Euro reef CS6-3 on the right side of the sump. The sump return pump (AM3K) has a funny looking return cluster only because they use special fittings that seem to be on back order through out the whole world so I had to make do with what I had. I pretty much re-plumbed the whole system over that past two days, needless to say its Bud light time.

Nice plumbing layout Golfish...
Looks like a "manifold" system (linear) rather than a flow switching device (random)...
6000-7000 gph...what size tank is that...??(missed that somewhere)
edit: is that the 120??..50X...???
I don't think you can try "too hard"..:D ...
Just keep plugging away till it "clicks" and all comes together..

Yeah, the tanks a 120..
No Ocean motions or anything like it. I have two 1" Sea Swirls that give the wave effect.
Squidd, I saw an OM 4way up close yesterday. Very nice product but I was a little concerned about how exposed everything is. Its almost like you want to cover the thing in silicon.

You mean the magnetic drive motor on top...??
Definetly not waterproof, but not in direct contact with the flow either...
Just need to watch your "placement" and "drippage"...
Kinda like a plug in powerstrip or the capacitor cover on an external pump motor...
(Pic of Squirt..similar design)

this is what happens when you take the puppy out to go pee, your 3 year old types away..
If I do have to remove the rock I might have the tank drilled on the sides for the 4 way

Someone I know was having trouble with the same pump being loud. His was merely from it vibrating in the stand. He put a bit of foam below it and now says it is just as quiet as his previous pump. I'm sure you've probably already thought of this if it were the problem though.:D

to improve some you could use locline fittings under the water to get rid of that pvc look. i use black locline against a black background. blends nicely.

I thought that was your way of swearing or something . . . I actually laughed out loud when I read the explanation!
