things on my LR

Iv'e noticed that when i turn the lights on in the morning that there are creatures that scurry around on my LR and hide....the are almost transparent and have legs, i have only noticed about five at one time. <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

Those are good things. Amphipods (sp?) and/or copepods. Very good to have. What is your setup (i.e. lbs of lr, cc or ls, equipment, etc..)?

Do they look like this.....

If so they are copepods/amphipods. A sign of a stable/mature system and good to have. They help keep deitrius cleaned up and can be a food source. Diversity is vital in a saltwater system and these guys are a good part of that diversity.

How long, on average, will it take for a take to mature to the point where it will have pods?

It doesn't take very long to get pods in your tank. When I had my tank setup for just two months I started seeing them.
