trying to figure out how my snails keep getting in my overflow last night and had a pleasant discovery!
my overflow is filled with what i think are pods. there are some rather largfe ones. almost look like they have a semi-circle hard shell on them and i could see their antenna. there were also really small ones moving around on the glass. i'm talking super small! i even noticed them in the scrubbers of my glass magnet. they look like tiny white specs that move real fast.
i'm gonna buy some tiger pods from my lfs and dump them in my sump. like everyone else, i'm hoping i can support a manderin. i know that i have to get the pod population up first. i probally have 150-200lbs of live rock in my 90DT. soon as i get my moon lights up and running i'll watch for pods on the LR!

Definitely pods, congratulations. I really need to upgrade to a larger tank one of these days so that I can get my wife a Mandarin. I have a huge pod population now but I don't know how long that would last if I had a Mandarin.

Get some tisbe pods instead of the tigger pods. The tigger pods are more for spot feeding rather than having a population of them to feed a mandarin. I bought a bottle of the tisbe pods and my mandarin is always nipping on the rocks because there's a HUGE pod outbreak.
