ok i have always wanted to take my 75 gal which has all reef safe fish, and add corals. i have still more research to do. for instance how much light, how many powerheads, which ones go best with eachother. could i get some imput please so i dont make mistakes. i dont plan on doing it until i have all of my research done.

I would start with the most important, lighting.
From what I have read, most corals need MH lighting.

i'd say proper filtrations is the MOST important.. lights do no good when the water quality is no good. get a real good skimmer. if you have a 50 gallon tank get a skimmer for a 75 gallon tank or a 90... add a few powerheads and lots of live rock for added filtration. THEN i'd so metal halides with some pc's or some vho's so that you don't limit yourself to what you can buy and wha you can't 2x250 would be great on a 75
