I have a 75 gal tank with approx 65 lbs of liverock... Built in filtration (TruVU aqua system) plus a UV and Cannister filter for Carbon/Phosphate filtration.
Current Resident List -
2" Emperor Angel - 9/03
2" Flame Angel - 9/03
3" Longnose Bttrfly - 10/03
1" Yellow Tang (love that little guy) -11/03
2" Purple Tang - 11/03
A cleanup Crew of 20+ snails, 3 hermits, 3 Fire Shrimp, and a Green Brittle star.
I know that several of my current residents will become large for the 75g. My gf and I have already started saving and planning for a 200g aquarium to be purchased in about a year and then transplanting the larger fish into that tank. I made sure to find pretty small specimans when I made my fish purchases so I would in turn have more time before needing a larger home.
I have done some research on the Firefish and would like to keep a pair in this tank. Any opinions on compatibility with the tank mates? I did read that they are quite peaceful and I know that the most agressive fish should be put in last. I added the Angels and the Tangs to the tank at the same time to help with aggression issues. Will there be some serious aggression issues from the other fish... These two fish would be the last additions to my collection.
Thoughts? Thanks for any help or advice. The more I see these fish the more I want to add them to the tank.

Only you know how realistic it is to think that you will have a 200g up and running in a year's time. Some of the fish you listed get quite big (Emp Angel, both tangs). Once they grow up a bit, you are going to run out of room FAST in your tank. You can certain get away with a pair of firefish now, but it won't take long before you're tank is significantly overcrowded. Once that happens, the fish will stress, making them more suseptable (sp?) to disease. Since you are planning on a 200g, I assume you already know most of this.
So, if you can honestly/realistically say that in a year's time your 200g will be up and running with the larger fish, than you will be fine adding a pair of firefish. This assumes that your filtration can handle your current bioload.

Carole - You feel that they would be too timid and scared of the other inhabitants and never really come out of hiding?? This was one of my concerns.
And yes getting the 200g going in a years time is a very realistic goal. I wish it could be sooner.. But taking my time has some advantages. I can't wait to see these fish mature and then living happily in the larger tank.
Thanks for the help

JMO, but maybe wait till you upgrade and then you could buy the pair of firefish. That way there seems to be "new additions" to both tanks. JMO. I think you are up to the limit in fish as of now. And IMO, I would let the tank be. I just bought a pair of firefish and they are out half the time with just a clown, angel, goby and scooter. Seems around 5-6 hours after lights on they are out and about in their space--they dont travel far. HTH.
