A 2002 what? I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the newer supersport bikes out there. They all are plenty fast and powerful for the street, even the 600's. TonyDetroit would probably be the guy to talk to about suzuki's, I know more about yamaha than suzuki.

sweet- You'll have all you need in a new GSXR600. It'll turn better numbers and handling than that ole 1100 any day.
Also if you're thinking of track riding, definitely get the suzuki. You can get parts anywhere, and they're very well tuned right out of the box. I'd say over half the track bikes at our group's track days are Suzuki's.
If you're feeling really psychotic and have " a small unit" you can get the 1000 for bragging rights.

Any of the newer 600's will out perform the old 1100 in every way. Just be careful if you end up getting the 1000. Thats alot of bike for someone that hasn't ridden in a while.

very cool yea its been a few years since i been on one but like they say it all comes back in a few days!!Checked out a few the other day iam going with the 1000!!Went to the weekend street drags and the susukis where kicking butt i think some of them where pulling like 147 mph in a quater mile are a little fast i was kinda busy racing my 72 vega gt whats cool they opened up the drag strip to all the young kids and old farts like me for grudge matches you can point your finger who you want to race and go for it i just love spanking them 5.0 mustangs with my little vega well any how they opened up to the public on the weekend because of the young kids street racing on the public streets and killing them selfs and others and i thinks thats a very cool thing for the younger kids to do to keep them out of trouble!!

Take it easy at first. A new bike is going to be quite different then a '93. Get good gear and keep in mind throttle control is very important on a liter bike. Post some pics when you get it.

I like the new red 1000's I think it is the best look gixxer to come out in a while..
I agree with the comment about the newwer 600s they are fast!
I sold my cbr 600F4i at the begining of last season, I miss it everyday but I couldn't seem to keep it under 100mph and I had several close calls with the police. They tend to lock you up for a while for anything better than a buck twenty. If you get good you should take it to a track, not to much better (or safer)
Good Luck, Rubber side down!!
