My calcium, on Salifert's test kit just gave me a reading of under 200.
I just did a Kh/Alk test, also with a Salifert test kit and that reading is
Kh of 10.6 and Alk of 3.8.
I am a confused because I am surprised that I am showing low calcium and
very hard water along with higher than normal Alk.
Shouldn't my Kh/Alk be lower with a low calcium reading?
How do I raise one, calcium, while both lowering my Kh/Alk?
My Ph is a little on the high side also, around 8.4, but that is with the
metal halides on most of the afternoon now, so I know it will drop a bit when
the lights go off.
My next question is what should I add to increase just my calcium?
I do not have much, in the way of corals at this point, a Kenya tree, some star polyps
and a meat coral.
Fish, they number 11, with many snails over 100.
All other tests are good with only RO/DI top offs, and 3 gallon water changes weekly.
Any help or advice would be appreciated, thanks.
