i have so much to do in the next month:
car needs inspected and the dash board is lit up like a christmas tree... check engine light, abs light, etc. it needs two new tires and probably wipers. it could also stand to be fully detailed after driving to the beach. hopefully i will be able to do most of the work myself. i will take it to have the computer chip and codes read tomorrow.
my fiance's dogs went to town on my furniture when we were at the beach and when we came into the house all i could smell was dog pee. so now i have to get a new couch and chair. its time for new furniture anyways.
also, i've been planning on getting vortechs and i'm not willing to abandon this purchase. it's time i put a few bucks into my tank...

My sister accidentally locked her cat in her bedroom for 5 days while she was on vacation. Then, to top it off her AC broke. When she went into her bedroom, she was overtaken by the stench of cat urine. She used a product called stink free and was able to get all the urine out.
You will love the vortechs. They are amazing. I was skeptical that they were going to be great, but I have not been disappointed.

Wow! Well, good luck!
I know I need to take care of my car some this month. My brakes need to be replaced, and my rotors turned. One rotor will probably have to be replaced. My A/C unit is completely broken... and there's average temps in the 100s now. My spark plugs and spark plug wires all need to be replaced. My horn needs to be fixed. Oh yeah - it also needs an oil change. lol... Trust me, it could be worse. yeah?

yeah, my AC is dead on my car too, and with black leather seats it makes for a very sweaty back. Luckily I have a second car but I hate driving it. The one that needs the work is a 2003 Golf GTI VR6 and gets much better gas mileage than my 04 Grand Cherokee. I try to just use the Jeep when the snow rolls in or I have to haul something. It has the worst blind spots in the A pillars of any car I've ever owned. Also, I lost the flip key for the VW and my alarm doesn't always set when I lock the door with the normal key. The dealership wanted something like $397 for a replacement but I found a place online that will replace it for a little over $100. She needs an oil change as well which usually costs $80 (full synthetic) but luckily I have a free one coming my way from the owner of the Midas down the street.
I'm finishing up nursing school in December, and havent worked a regular job in a while so that I can focus on my studies. So these expenses are magnified a bit to me, however they are things that are long overdue. I have always refused to get a credit card and I think it has trained me to not spend money that I don't have. So I have the money set aside and it will be money well spent: I'll be happy with new furniture, fish will be happy with new PHs, and the car will run better. I'm looking forward to it.

Man'O Man. My AC in my car is down as well, and the check engine light just came on this week. It must be something having to do with the hobby. LOL I figure that the AC is fine as it kinda works, it will cool down about 5 degrees from the outside temp. The summer is almost over and I figure that I can save the $$ and get more stuff for the tank and fix it next year. I have a buddy that is a gear head and he moonlights on cars at a discounted rate. He did my front and rear breaks this last winter for like $250.00 parts and labor, and that is replacing all 4 rotors and all pads. Having a good mechanic is priceless!!!
Eric,
Good luck with all the purchases, new furniture is always nice. But something tells me that you will be more happy with the Vortech's.

Sweatervest check to see if your car has a Cabin air filter on it. My moms car the AC she thought was Quitting I checked the Cabin Filter on it. Amazed the freaking HVAC system on her va was even working at all. Changed it and all the issues went away for less than 35 bucks.

My bro has a Jetta VR6, (2001). I think for the first time in the 3 years he's owned it, it's gone a couple months without needing something. He loves it tho.
I have always been against car inspections from a modification standpoint. But man, here and back in Florida with no inspections to too, there are some serious pieces of crap on the road, and sorta have been changing my opinion. These jalopies are a danger to the driver's themselves, and others on the road.

^ my car has been pretty reliable and without problems until now. I havent gotten the computer codes read yet, but I suspect the lights are secondary to having some sensors take a dump. At least that's what a few google searches has resulted in me thinking. I think that VeeDubbers are all in love with their buckets. As far as the inspection thing goes: I hate it but I'm glad that I have to do it. It forces me to fix things that I would probably otherwise overlook. Historically I've been pretty lazy when it comes to service and maintenance on my car, but I'm making an effort to change that. Both of my vehicles are paid off and it's great not having a car note, plus I should be able to go for a few more years with the VW before it becomes too outdated for me.

The spending has started. I ordered the VorTech's and new tires. It was pretty difficult for me to place the VorTech order, even though I was planning on spending the $.
