Did they sell FISH only? Meaning, not a pet store?

Don't trust your LFS!
You need to ask on the forum or an experienced reef keeper! The lfs gave me kick ich and i have lost my whole clownfish population because it did not do anything! Well If you find a reef specialty store this is okay! My reef specialty store even has a forum to ask workers and the owner questions! Well to treat i would use a QT!
Good Luck!!!

yes fish and reef only by lowes
That's the one...

Kevin (owner) is a really good guy. But still, understand that all lfs's are a business, and such, they have to make a profit too.

what kind of garlic and how do i feed.
Use a fresh garlic clove and smash it up. Let the juices soak into the food for a few minutes then feed. There are directions in the top FAQ of this forum.

thats cool, i will try that garlic thing. and is that store a good one. thats the store that i bought the kick-ick from. so that stuff doesnt work at all or what. did i waste my money?

If you are talking about the store in Garner, store is good, as far as livestock, selection, and specializing in only saltwater tanks. But like I said, they are a business that has to make money, so it doesn't surprise me that you were advised to buy a product from them to solve the problem. I would always check here first, on what type of products to get, what should I do for this or that, etc.
As far as kick ick, personally I have never used it. I have read posts on here where some have had success, but I have read other posts where it has done nothing.

For the first time EVER, I successfully won a battle with ICH.
After a short out-of-town trip, I came home to find my Purple Tang completely infested. I though I was going to lose him for sure, so I thought I'd try supplementing garlic to at least aleviate his stress. I have no QT tank and the "reef-safe" remedies have never worked for me (only caused more problems).
With daily feedings of food soaked in Kent Marine Garlic XTreme (2-3 drops), he pulled through beautifully. Almost 2 months later, he's still going strong and ICH-free.

do you use there LR and is it an good. I am thinking about buying some of it.
Most of my lr came from them, but you should hand select each piece, as the stuff rolls thru there faster than toilet paper. So what I got, and what you might get, could be two completely different things.

Thats good news for you, in this case, but as for advising others on this product, it has little to no value in getting rid of ick (and keep in mind that I have a bottle of this in my kitchen). Bottled Garlic, such as Kent Marine's, will only make the food taste better
. It has no healing effect whatsoever. Only "fresh" garlic has this potential, and that fact is still questionable. But, if the garlic flavoring made your fish eat, then I supposed that it did it's job. But I assure you that if you had ick in the tank, then it's still there.

T316, where are you in NC?
I come to the Raleigh area all the time and make a run of all the LFS's there.
Live in Apex (Jordan Lake area), but my shop/work is in Raleigh (1/2 mile from the lfs we were talking about in the Lowe's shopping center).

I've had pretty good experiences at DU in Garner but I was very impressed with another shop I found in Clayton last week. As far as all the ones around the Triangle I have good/bad experiences with them all...

Yes, the one in Clayton is decent, and the owner is very knowledgeable. I believe he once worked for Ripley's, maintaining their tank or something.

Well of all the places I have been his fish look better than anywhere I have ever seen. He will tell you how he feeds them, feed them in front of you and tell you how long each fish has been there. That means alot to me. The only thing I didn't like is most of his fish were a little too large for me. He has a really cool juvi bandit angel in one of his DT tanks too.

well last night a had a disaster with my skimmer. the dang thing went hay wire and overflowed a little over 7g's in my stand and all over my floor. it is really weird because the thing has been working fine for the last three weeks and then out of no where it overflows. so i have to call the company now and complain to them. sorry about then venting. just had to tell someone.

Any idea what exactly went wrong?

no clue. the skimmer wa working when i went back to work and then the wife called me and told me at 3am that the skimmer was overflowing. the only thing i can think of is that it sucked to much water and made an ugly suction. i am trying the same thing i did last night to see is it does the same thing.

Use the all natural way. Cleaner shrimp, fire shrimp, Selcon and Ecosystems Garlic. Soak your food in the garlic and selcon for 30 min. and feed.
Ecosystems Garlic is a little expensive but by far the best and most potent. Kent garlic IMO is more of an attractant. This method clears up my fish in a couple of days with no ill effect to anything in the tank
