Some people just need to be neutered so they can't reproduce. This just happened the other day here in San Antonio -
Smoker Sets Self on Fire; Crashes Car
A smoker ends up setting himself on fire on Loop 410 near Ingram Road. Officials tell us the driver was lighting a cigarette while he had a gas can in his passenger's seat. That sparked the fire and left the man severely burned. Investigators say the driver tried to pull over on 410 but ended up putting the car in reverse, smashing into another vehicle. Airlife was called to the scene. No word yet on the extent of injuries.

Yeah that is pretty stupid. I can't stand people who still smoke around the pumps. I almost got into a fight with a guy when I told him not to smoke around the pumps.

Since a lit cigarette can be tossed into gas and it won't set it off, there must have been a bunch of gas fumes in the car, you know, so bad that you could easily smell them. Is there a such thing as a double Darwin award?

People can be really stupid about cigarettes and gasoline. If you toss a cigarette in a bucket of gas probably no problem. If you toss it in a gas spill on concrete it's usually a whole different story. You really don't want one near where you are pouring gas because of the fumes. When I ran gas stations I just got to the point I would kill the mains so everyone's pump would shut off when I saw someone smoking. I find when 5 or 6 other people are also giving you the dirty looks you are less prone to argue about it. I had one idiot lay his cigarette on top of the pump and say he wasn't smoking so I had to turn his pump on. Had another flick his cigarette at me. Then of course you'd have those out to prove their manhood by lighting up once they had filled up and were walking up to the booth to pay.

what happens when you cross the wrong guy and he blows your head off? Yeah he goes to jail but you're dead over, what, a cigarette? That would be darwin. Just ignore people.

Mythbusters is your friend. Gas and Cigarettes arent the issue. It was the lighter that caused this guys problem.

You want to trust those goofs go right ahead. Personally I think anyone stupid enough to smoke at a gas station should have their license revoked. It's the vapors that cause the issue. I have NO problem telling morons smoking at the pump to put it out. If they go up so do I.

A gas station up the road from me went up in flames due to someone smoking at the pump ... took two others out with him. I have pulled up to get gas several times and saw someone smoking at the pumps. I just went to another station.

well we almost had one, I was riding with this old man, (a Cajun from work) he was driving his one ton duley. And we were heading to ihop. There was this parking spot right in front a straight shot from the street so it would be easy to park this beast of a truck. So the guy backs out, and before we can pull in, this Prius whips infront of us into the spot. So the old man (a term I use endearingly) rolls down his window, and just goes nuts, calling him all sorts of names. The moronic hipster kind of gets taken aback, and says well I'll move. And the old man says, "no, I just wanted to tell you what you where." So we back up and go looking for a parking spot. And right before we pull in that same car pulls the same crap.
Then the hipster and his wife get in the window screaming and yelling as my friend. Telling him you ruined our breakfast cussing him and everything. So the old man says, "Well you ruined mine, now get out my window or else..." So the hipster bows up, and say "Or else what?"
To which the old man begins reaching under his seat and says, "I'll fill you full of lead, I will."
The hipster backed up knocked down his wife and took off running. hehe
(there was no gun in the truck)

Hey, I drive a F-250 and around here the locals consider that a small truck and hardly a proper indication of manhood. So I'm guessing it was a F-350 dually with a crew cab, 4x4 and a 40 inch lift kit with tires to match. Oh yeah and you need the remote control drop-down running boards so you can get in it and it never ever goes off-road. LOL

My 250 isn't lifted. I have a hard enough time loading my cripple but up into that thing at normal height. Is that a man card violation?
I generally do carry a gun if that makes a difference.

No man-card violation I can see. My old 73 F-250 is not even lifted since it is 2wd, I don't generally carry a gun, but I do generally have my aussie cattle dog in the back which may be more dangerous.

My brother tried to sell me an early 70's 2 wheel drive 250 he stumbled on. It had a 428 Super Cobra Jet in it. He offered it to me for 3200.00. Thought about it just to get the engine but it blew up on the guy he sold it too about a month later. I really liked the 70's version of Ford trucks

Nah, if there's one "automotive group" that justifies the term jerkoff, or worse, it's Super Duty (99+ F2/350) drivers. They never learned courtesy, think that most of laws don't apply to them, and think their 7 ton express is really faster then it actually is.
Go watch a gas station or something that has a one way, used to direct traffic. I bet the first car you see go the wrong way, is a Super Duty driver trying to shave off 5 seconds...

You sure it isn't just typical idiot Florida drivers and you just notice the mistakes more when they are in a big vehicle?
