I can not seem to get it right. :notsure: :help:
I have killed an LTA and a BTA so far and a 3rd looks to be on way.
What am I doing wrong?

My water readings as of 06/08
CA 420
PH 8.2
Trates 0
Trites 0
Phosphates 0
Ammonia 0
dKH 8
SG 1.026
Mag 1250
Temp 80-81
Lights: 3 150 HQI's 9 hours/day
4 96w PC 11 hours/day
Water changes: 25% bi- weekly
I am really discouraged with keeping anemones.

water seems to be ok and lighting is good enough. are you moving them once you put them in or are you leaving it alone and letting it go where it wants. If you move it you run the risk of tearing its foot and it will die from that. other than that I dont know what the problem could be? how long do they live? do you supplement its feeding

I put them in the tank and leave them alone. I let them stay in one place which is usually under a rock for about 2 weeks then I move them.
I firt try a power head and then move the rock. I never touch the little guys.
They usually live from 2 weeks to a month. This last one. 2 weeks under a rock then this is what I have. When I picked him at my LFS. He was in perfect shape. no tears and was fully opened. He even fed him. I do not get it.
Here is a shot that I just took. I do not think he will make it.??

Sorry to hear that, i feel for you! Do you happen to have a cleaner shrimp in your setup? I found that i had trouble with my cleaner shrimp digging in my BTA's mouth after feeding time, even though i fed the shrimp well first with the same food. Needless to say, sadly, the shrimp was removed.

Sorry...Again...He really looked like he was on the way out to me as well.
Are you getting these anemones from the same place?

Sometimes the difference inlight is the problem. If your LFs has them under metal halides and you are putting them under PC's they probably cannot adjust. Often, supplemental feeding will help to compensate, but ifyours wre under a rock for 2 weeks, itis unlikely you were feeding them. That looks like a green carpet which really do require intensive lighting. The reccomendation for them is Metal Halides. They also need a good water flow. It may not be worth it to keep trying-but if you can find some in a store that has beenkeeping them under PC instead of MH you will fare better.
I only have PC on my 75 gal so make sure to ONLY purchase corals/whatever from tanks where that is what they are kept under now. Sorry to hear about your losses. It is frustrating and somewhat painful to love livestock.
