How old is your tank?
If the skimmer has nothing to skim this will probably hapen. I have a prizm too, and I had the same problem. You must see that the foam that is formed is not wet, but rather dry. How fast does the collection cup fill? Is it filled with water or a yellowish stuff?
Try adjusting the regulator not to the full open position but start from the fully closed and slowly open the flow until you do not see the bubbles in the tank and the foam is not wet (ie filling the cup too fast with water).

salinity changes can do that, as can additives. if you also happened to put in some melafix, or some calcium or some other of the myriad of additives at the same time as the water top off (common since we usually tend to do all our maintanence at once) that could have had the same effect.
if your skimmer has a water flow control, ie a ballvalve beween your pump and skimmer, try backing off a tad on the water so that there is more time for the bubbles to move to the top of the skimmer chamber without being swept out.

for temporary measures and in the future a stocking or a fine net with help collect the bubble and prevent them from entering the tank. I did this when I 1st ran my seaclone.

yeah, i added (for the first time, seeing as i just got some coral/invertabret stuff-mushroom rock, green star polyps)
i added Bionic calcium and some tech-i....then a bit of a water top off....and whoosh!!!! thousands of thousands of bubbles.....miny bubbles.....
my penguin 170 makes some bubbles when the water hits the tank water...is that bad? just just go up and float and pop later....
