Threadfin Butterly black spot

Hey guys help me out, I have seen this on here before, but i tried the search for a half hour and nothing came up. I purchased a threadfin butterfly and he has been in the tank for about a week. He was perfect at 7:00 when i left my house, then I get back home at 9 and hes got a black/grey spot on him. I saw this on here before so hopefully somebody can help me out quick. I got him from ***** thats probly why.

How large is the spot and are the lights off?

Yea the lights were off, and the spot is about 2 inches in diameter.
It will be gone in the morning after the lights come on. it is a camoflauge defense.
