Three cheers for my girlfriend!!!!

We had our first power outage yesterday <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> I was out doing some shopping, and the woman was home with the flu. I saw a couple of transformers blow where I was at, so I called home to make sure everything was okay. The pay phone rang through to the house, then rang, and rang. I figured she was on the internet(if she's on the net, we still have power, right?) WRONG!!!
Came to find out later the pay phone was messed up
So I go to a buddys house. He answers the door and says "Go home now! The powers out, and your fish tank is off! Kim has been calling everywhere looking for you. I go home(Mach 5 at least), and Kim has the tank opened up, plastic cup in hand bailing water from the sump to the main tank to keep the flow going.
Now you must understand the tank is MY hobby. She enjoys looking at it, but can't understand why I invest so much time, effort, and money into it. She does come here to read posts, And evidently has learned a lot.
When I got home the power had been off for almost an hour. It was off for over four. I had to go buy a generator(about twenty minutes after I got it running, the power came back on). The whole time I was gone she kept the tank going. I am soooo grateful to her, she saved my.....ummm.... OUR tank!!!!
Since she comes here and will read this post, lets give her some props for being so level-headed and for jumping out of bed with the flu to save the tank.

My 9 year old son found my tank "leaking" from the front of the display....he called mom and started bailing water into a bucket.....mom called me...I was hours away....when I got home my son was taking water out of the display as my wife returned it to the refugium(its in the room behind the display)...they kept stuff going!!!! Problem was a blocked line on the pump that goes from display to refugium...but they didn't know.....my son just knew water was not supposed to fall over the front of the display!!!!!
I took 'em out to dinner....

power went out on my tank once and all I found when I came home was the dog trying to drink out of the tank, I think he had more sense than the ex did because perhaps I was mislead and he was trying to make water movement with his tongue......lol who knows!!! dat a gurl..does she have a sis... <img src="graemlins//freak.gif" border="0" alt="[freak]" />

Option 720, that's a dangerous statement, considering the amount of money that goes into a salt tank(especially a large one) <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> I already have her driving a mercedes, can't really spoil her more than that, eh
Picies & Justin, She's worth twice her weight in platinum, but we're both a little gunshy from previous marriges. So we're just enjoying each other without the added pressure that piece of paper adds to the mix
It's pretty cool, she's the hero of the BB.
Tank update: Everything seems to be alright. I put a small amount of carbon under the skimmer return in case anything got out of whack, and changed the filter media. Everything closed up a little early last night(the lights went off at four the day of the storm), so I think it threw them off a little. Nothing really looks too bad, so Kim really did save the whole tank. That's my baby!!!!!!
