in preparing to add my babies to my display tank, and all the algea in there lol I have decided to give it a good cleaning. I am doing it in three parts so I dont over load the tank with gunk.
Today I did one side, using a hose, and a filter sock, I moved rocks, sucked gunk and pulled algea. I also changed the sponges on the bottom of the powerheads, yuck. tonight I will do a 10 gal water change.
Hoping I will have time tomorrow to get the middle done and scrape the sides. abd another 10 gal water change.
This week end I will do the other end, clean the skimmer and another 10 gal water change. I am hoping this will get most of the flatworms, (though i didnt see to many) and algea.
Here is a pic so far, and a pic of my lonly male.

You know, I love these FTS of your horse tank. And I'm completely jealous.....I can't seem to keep many gorgs (even photosynthetic!) without them getting covered in algae. Trouble is, once they start going downhill, it's very hard to stop them.
I bet your male is going to be VERY happy with some new friends to play with! Except the white one. He won't like the white one. Better send that one to me.

Oh Rick, your such a funny guy lol hahaha
The white one wants to stay with its daddy.
Lois, yes there is always something to clean.
I got the middle done, and a small water change. I will get a pic in a bit

Its pretty, but As soon as its shipped, it will turn black and prob stay that way lol . Seahorses are fickle.

Never pay for color. lol they will turn what ever color they want

That EIBI horse looks cool, but NOWHERE as nice as T's. Hers looks almost opalescent to me. I know it may be the lighting, but hers was just...wow.

Wow, T! That is awesome!
How many babies do you have? How old?
Are you gonna keep them all? Wish I had known. I just bought 3 to replace the ones I lost when my tank sprung a leak!

lol there are a bunch of threads about them. They will be 11 and 13 weeks old on sat. I have 8 of the 13 week olds and about 15 of the 11 week olds with about 5 that are prob not going to make it. They are still very small and skinny, but eat so I havent culled them.
I am keeping 5 since I only have one male left. I lost thier mother a few weeks after they were born.

Is it my imagination (it probably is...) but is the horse in the second pic from the bottom look like it's starting to develop a pouch? When do they start to show sexual dimorphism?

Shrimpy, im glad your back, Thanks for looking. Do you plan on breeding?? You need to post some picks of your new babies. I would love to see them
Rick, Could be I expect in the next month or so to start seeing pouches. And - I too love the white/cream one. I love its frosting.
Earlier I saw one of the smaller ones turn almost peach. It was at the back of the tank and by the time I got the camera, I couldnt find it again. lol fast little boogers.
