that depends myself I try to start with new posts and work my backwards to older posts. we dont go through each and every post no it was just a look at the number of posts and threads kinda thing to show hey we can miss things that others may see and thats where we need everybodys eyes.
alot of people like myself see this as a second home its the first place I log into when I get on the net before I even check my email on a daily basis.
I agree with ophiura though there are a lot of things that could be taken care of by simply ignoring a rude statement and reporting it rather than the "HEY YOU WHY DID YOU SAY THAT ARE YOU * " that carries alot of extra tension that isnt needed ad it gets out of hand quickly.

I was getting tired of reading posts from the less experianced and seeing this small group getting their kicks by insulting the person's lack of experiance and the mods wouldn't do anything about it, I suppose because theya ll contributed maoney to the site. I had had enough.

Somtimes I feel like my head is going to implode if I see another "hair algae" or "cycle" question. What gets irritating is when you give good, sound advice based on your experience and it gets blown off because it's not the answer they wanted to hear...Then you help someone else and they are totally greatful and follow your advice and it works...

.
Some people need to be yelled at everyonce in a while, happens in real life.
.
I think the most important part of what I've learned about online forums is that the tone of peoples responses or their age are generally to blame for most of the games that are played.
.
I now live by the motto of if I don't have something positive or absolutley new or constructive to say about a posting, I say nothing.
.
I will say this, MODS on this site do a great job IMO...There is no perfect world, but, The MODS are also the ones who determin the vibe of the forums .

it seems some are understanding the reason for this thread.
I just want to raise awareness that we need to "moderate" ourselves just as much. its hard not to ask some one if they are just "being stupid" after 25 people tell them a 10G tank is too small for a full grown tang, and they insist the tang looks happy. but we are responsible for the tones we set in the ways we participate. eventually the person will either come around or the tang will succumb to a stress induced sickness. telling some one in a mean way is just going to push them away from the results or cause them to ignore the post.
I have even had members tell me I pulled research information out of my backside and tried to make it fit..... ok
I tried to explain my point of view and used a research study to explain something better than I could. one person likes the information I provided one didnt.... At least I reached one person. the other is welcome to believe whatever they want.

Erick, I know what you mean............I have so many projects and odd little research projects that I've performed, yet most of them I simply don't post threads about.....Don't want to get into arguments or heated debates..Jim
