Does anyone have an opinion about this sump for an aggressive tank. (about 100 gallons) Good? Bad?
I was just reading about it and can't find any reviews..

They really are junk...every little component of it is substandard material.
You're better off to just buy a tank and install your own baffles, etc and make you're own sump.

I disagree. I have the Tidepool on my 75 and love it!
If you have no one to plumb a glass tank for you then this is ideal. Purchase the overflow reccomended for it.
I have a Euro Reef skimmer in the sump and use a Mag 7 for the return. I lvoe the drawers for the filter media and you have two partitions in the sump base to put extra media if you want to. It looks as good as the day it was purchased.
Our local Pizza Joint has a 125 gallon tank with an eel, trigger and lion fish and they also use the Tidepool.

I use one on my 120. It's a nice "no brainer" sump. I removed the biowheel and filled the back compartment with live rock rubble. The return compartment will handle a decent in sump skimmer, return pump, and heater. IMO, nothing substandard about it. Mine's been in operation for over 6 years and works fine. They are, however, overpriced IMO.

I also have one (the tidepool). It is part of my "ghetto" tank as it was given to me free. I have no major complaints about it. Fits my skimmer, a little short for my heater. I've thought of mods to it, and I am sure there could be some if desired...but overall it is a no brainer and has been on this tank now for like 4 years.

I had a tidepool 2 on a 90 gallon for three years that I ran with a Mag 9 return pump and it did fine....only problem is after you put your pump in there is not a whole lot of room for a skimmer unless it isn't too big. I liked mine ok though for that sized tank. Now I am still trying to find a good sump solution for my new 190 gallon tank....just have a 50 gallon tank down there now with a large skimmer and two mag 9's and a small pump for my UV.

Exactly. I have a MAG 7 for the return and a Berlin skimmer in there, along with another MAG 5 (I think) to run that...and boy is it a trick to get them right. There is very little room for playing. If I didn't have a Kent Venturi on there it might be a bit better but...
