anyone use this system for a sump under their tanks? gimme your experiences.Thanks again.Looking for a overflow/sump for my 55 FO. thinking that buying a 10 gallon aquarium would be cheaper and do just about the same thing,correct?

Personally - I would sink your money into a good external overflow/prefilter and use a glass or acrylic tank for the sump.
Especially if you don't require any additional biofiltration.
Lifereef overflow
Good return pump
Anything that will hold water for the sump, glass, plastic, acrylic.
DIY and do it for less ~ with similar results.
Works fine for many people
