Tiger Shark

You would need about 1 million gallons or more and a miracle touch. No public aquarium has ever successfully mantained a tiger shark for more than a couple weeks ( much like the white shark). I seriously hope that this was a trick question!

Ive seen a lot of websites offering up coral catsharks as "tiger sharks". If this is the case, I would say 70-100 gallons would suffice. I wish everyone would start talking in scientific names. A true tiger shark is Galeocerdo cuvier, and the coral catshark is Atelomycterus marmoratus.

All you need to do is ask the place thats selling it for the scientific name because that is probably how they order it to begin with. Also, a true Tiger would go for about $3,000 for my guess, and a coral cat is $75 on the average.

Lionfish, how big is your tank, and how big is your shark now? Personally i don't think these should be sold at all by pet stores, as most people don't have a setup that will allow for the massive size most of these sharks reach. I wouldn't even consider one for my 300 gallon. Not to mention they prefer a mostly open tank to swim in. They look inviting when they're very young and still small, but most people don't realize most of the sharks can reach 4 ft in lenght! I've heard horror stories of people keeping these in tanks for years where they get so big they can barely turn around. I would like to see more pics of your setup and shark Lion.

I wasn't paying attn to the "tiger" part. I doubt anyone is successfully raising a true tiger shark. I was just intrigued by your pic. Is that from your tank or just pic you had?
