Time for a Replacement???

Need some advise. Here is a pic of my impeller on my TAAM Rio Hyperflow 32 Powerhead 1920gph. So, do I need a replacement ($50.00)impeller, or should I replace the entire unit ($105.00)? I wasn't sure if the damage on the impeller would ruin the entire pump. The pump itself is running, buy it is a bit noisy and when it is turned off, it takes a bit get it back on. I have to shake it a bit to get it moving again.
Thanks for looking, Danny

WOW...looks pretty chewed up...I'd price the impeller and the whole unit....depending on the cost difference....go from there

How does the pump look itself?? More than likely if the shaft is worn the sleeve o the pump I'd ad well. I'd opt to replace the entire pump for the mere fact, if both show damage the new impellor is going to wear prematurely because of the wear to the pump, so you'd be back in the same boat again.

Looking at the shaft and rust marks definitely replace the pump. I'm pretty sure it's leaking a bit. Might look at a different pump as well.

Thanks for the replies. Well, the pump is toast. Just stopped working about an hour ago. Any recommendations? How long can I be pumpless? I have a couple mushrooms, small hammer coral, tomato clown, orange spotted goby, hermit crab and a few damsels?

Well you should be okay for a few days.....your rock and skimmer will help....and the PH you have should keep your water moving
What did you use the other one for?

The TAAM Rio Hyperflow 32 Powerhead 1920gph (pump that died) is the return pump inside my sump and the powerhead i was referring to is I believe a Hydor Koralia 4 1200gph. Any recomendation on a quiet return pump comprable to the TAAM Rio Hyperflow 32 Powerhead 1920gph? I have a 135g tank. Thanks!

Honestly, I really like PondMaster and Mag Drive pumps. Both are made by Danner, and I happen to like their pumps a lot.

Pondmastet good pumps, heat transfer is an issue, would recommend Eheim... Alittle more cash upfront, but very reliable pump all the way around. I forget which compact Flower is running, but again very reliable, less heat transfer, and more energy efficient than the Mags.

Made a decision. Got a Mag Drive 18. What a difference. It is so much more quiet then my old beat up Rio 32. Thanks for all your comments!!!
