I remember about 3 yrs ago, PETA got involved and p***ed a fit over a baby elephant that drowned at a well respected zoo in Syracuse, NY. The baby drowned due to another elephant was trying to save her and the zoo keepers did everything in their power to save her (They did get her out of the water and attempted to save her). PETA then accused the zoo of negligence. (spelling?) The public was in 100% in support with the zoo and felt that PETA have no business in how a zoo should have handled the situation. PETA also has demanded that the zoo release all their elephant to a sanctuary. What PETA don't get is - Syracuse Zoo has a fine long record of successful breeding of endangered species at the zoo for years. One death of a baby elephant - PETA jumps all over them ?!?!? C'mon - give me a break !!
I rank PETA along with the wackos that are against abortions. But that's another matter to discuss elsewhere. So no hijacking this thread topic about abortions please.
Please start another thread and this wacko will be more that happy to discuss why killing unborn children is wrong.

wow thats a liberal if i ever saw one, if you put the same worth of a human unborn baby as an animal you seriously need to get some morals about yourself

If you re-read my post I said ONLY if PETA sees it fit justly. Not all. The incident with the baby elephant that was only 1 week old and the baby accidently fell in the elephant pool by another female elephant NOT the mother elephant. The keepers have pulled out the baby after trying to isolate the mother and others to save the baby. Once the baby was out of the pool, they tried in vain to save her. After that incident, PETA jumped in and accused the zoo of negligience. This type of "cry wolf" attitude by PETA was never should have been called for to begin with.

I couldn't see the video but I know that Smithfield hires farms all over the country to contribute to their meat source. If that one farm did anything wrong then Smithfield would simply eliminate them as a source.
Don't blame Smithfield, they are simply a buyer from this particular farm.
