time to call the exterminator...

i have these miniscule sugar ants or whatever species of ants all over my house. they are very very tiny and i want to call an exterminator to spray for them. i have never had to call one before and i have heard of people bombing their houses for roaches and whatnot only to find crashed tanks no matter how sealed off they were. i obviously dont want to lose my tank over this, what do you guys suggest??!?!

I have an exterm guy come in and spray the entire house except for the tank area. I turn a/c and fans off till he is done so it will not become airbourne.
This seems to work for me.

We use home defense. My husband sprayed behind the tank, with everything on without me knowing and I FREAKED!! Come to find out though, everything was good. We still spray every year, but I threaten his life about if he ever gets that close to my tank again. Never any issues at all, and have done it three years now

At first I did, but he simply said if any gets in the tank, it will most likely = disaster. so he is very careful.

I worked at a resort and we had to tent for termites. Problem was the 180g FO tank. So I came up with what I have to say was an ingenious solution. Seal the sump and top of the tank (used 4 mil poly), take a hose and run it into the tank taking care to seal it well and used a pump to positively pressurize the tank. After a week who would have thought, not one loss except for the termites.
