Time to winterize the house

Oh yes boys and girls mother nature is rearing her head and about to shriek months of snow, ice, and blisteringly cold winds down on our heads.
the temperature dropped to 45 degrees last night and the fresh nip of fall is the harbringer of winter DOOM
well at least a couple months of frigid air and overpriced oil. I am stocked on almost everything I need to winterize, except spray foam. time tyo yank ouit the Ac units and insulate the windows.
I HATE THE COLD, WTH do I live in maine?

I dont mind the cold but I hate too much snow. it dropped down to the mid 30's here last night.

we are going to get pounded by snow this year. (up here anyways) I can work in the snow its the wind chill on the clear days thats a killer. its hard to say I cant work because its sunny out..... Yeah sunny and 20 degrees with a wind chill aproaching 10 below zero (I'm a carpenter ever hit your thumb with a hammer when its below zero out? I dont reccomend it, believe me you can go through life and die feeling completly fulfilled if you never expirience that). gotta say I am a summer man. forget snowsleds, forget icefishing, gimme a premanent summer. I hate oil prices I hate COLD.

Not too cold here in NYC.But I just finished reframing the exterior walls in my kids room.I decided to check to see how much insulation was in the walls.Guess what,none.Brick on block with furring strips then drywall.Reframed with 2x4 and 3.5in of insulation,should help a bit.Now I need to do master bedroom.Wife says to hurry before the cold really gets here.

Getting cooler here too, 100 today, high of 99 tomorrow....Winter is fast approaching.....BRRRR!

Well, just be glad you aren't presently on the Texas-Louisiana gulf coast.

I with you. Not as extreme but today's high was 90 but going to climb to mid 90's next week. Had to close the windows because the breeze was a bit cool.

r u people KIDDING???? OMG I LOVE the winter!!!!!!!! The cold, the rain, the wind, the snow, the ice, the sleet, the grey skies..... the christmas music, the lights, coziness and big fluffy blankets, fires in fireplaces and evergreen trees.... how could u not LOOOOOOOOOOVE the winter?????

ME TOO!!! dont forget the winter fashions: jackets boots sweaters layering long pants and all its amazingness! and hot chocolate or coffee on a cold day :) nothing beats it

I agree winter rules. I dont care to much about the snow and wat not I just like cold weather.
I flippin hate bein hot. One of the worst feelin is livin in this desert w no breeze just heat! I HATE SUMMER SO MUCH! Cant wait for weather to get a little cooler. I get very aggiated when Im hot and sweaty

yes!!! vests and supercute ski hats and fuzzy mittens & snowtubes and bunny boots.... AUGH!!! I WANT THE WINTER ALREADY!!!!!!!

i agree. if there is anything i hate, loathe, despise and abominate, it's being hot. UGH. I want icicles on my eyelashes, people!!!!

Me too! You can always put on a sweater or cozy up under another blanket when it's cold. When it's beastly hot, there's only so much you can take off.

I'm not looking forward to the heating bills, but other than that, I actually enjoy winter.

I used to live in Temecula/Murietta, great area, great weather....Near San Diego, near L.A., near enough to Vegas.

In addition - I get rid of all the snowbirds (who have nothing better to do than drive at least 10mph UNDER the speed limit)!!!!!! .... but unfortunately, you people from Florida (and some South Carolina and Arizona thrown in) get them back...
Stupid little 1"-2" snow storm are quite annoying though. I would rather have a lot all at once and be done with it. (My driveway is on a hill & has to constantly be cleaned.)

All I can say is

I LOVE Winter! by far, my favorite season.. Fall and winter.. summer is too hot.. spring is too gloomy..
Driving on ice is always fun

If you can maneuver your car right..
