I guess I'm just a nutcase...... but I just bought the Coralife Aqualight Power Center that controls three lights for $29.99. I also have a good power strip. Problem solved.

Anybody had any problems with their Coralife Aqualight timers? Do you prefer the original single timer, the dual timer or the new digital timer?

They also sell the multi-timers at Target!!! They're most expensive though, but you can set multiple settings. I think my partner says they were like $80 I would like to get one cause I'm TIRED of all the timers underneath my cabinet, once I get my sump/fuge, I don't want all those timers everywhere underneath with it. :happyfish

As much as i understand trying to do things on a budget, You are dragging alot fo wattage through those Cheap cords ! Becareful folks, More household fires are started every year from overloaded circuts!

There are other products out there that are designed to contol your lighting and such, do a search for Reef keeper! Yes it costs more, But it is designed to do excatly what you are trying to do!
The way i see it, you've already invested more into you tank then you should have!
Take care of your investment!

I've had mine for a while now, at least 6 months and I love it. The only problem is that some crud got into the day light timer so it stopped ticking. But I don't think it just died on it's own, I think soil from a plant next to the tank got knocked into the timer because the other one is working fine. It's worth the money.

I use 2 NewTek 8 outlet powerstrips with digital timers. The only thing that sucks is when the power goes out or flicks, I have to program the time for each day.

My timers have 24 switches on them, one for each hour of the day. Each switch has an on and an off position. I only paid $9 per timer and I think they are awsome. You can literally have up to 24 different settings per light.
