Tiny Blue Tang

I was at the lfs this wk and saw a tiny blue tang 1/2 inch . I was wondering if there are harder to keep when they are so small. It was so cute though.
I have one blue tANG already. It will be alwhile before I can add anything else to my tank but I was just curious about the size and if adding a tiny one with a larger about 2 inches would be a problem ? :notsure:

These very small specimens often have high mortality rates. Personally, I don't like seeing them offered in the trade at that size. Allowing them to grow out to the 3-4 inch range makes them a better risk. I'd pass on it if I were you. It may not fare well with the larger specimen.

I have tried twice to raise a small hippo, about 1-2 inches. Both didn't make the quarantine period. However I have been very lucky with ones that are 2-3 inches. They really get stressed out easily, and hide a lot. I wouldn't do it if I were you.

I would agree. I have two small hippos (1") and have been very lucky. :cheer: :jumping:
