So I bought another piece of LR today and found a tiny (about 1/2") brownish reddish crab. I went to grab him and he slipped into one of the holes in the rock. Any Ideas on what he might be?
I also found a really tiny starfish with long thin legs ( like the thickness of a peppermint shrimp antenna) and its about the size of a letter on a keyboard. It looks striped.and I saw the crab again and he is more reddish. There are also some things that look like aptasia but they have a hard body and are transparent with white dots on the ends of the tentacles. I also got some yellow bubble sponge. I don't have a camera that will show any detail so I can't take pics. I'm sure I'll never see the starfish again since its so incredibly tiny but yea, I think I scored big with this piece of LR.
Okay, so the crab could sit on a penny he's so small and it looks like he has red and white legs with white tips, black eyes and I only see one claw. PLEASE HELP

TINY BRISTLE WORMS! And this crab is like retarded. he looks like he's picking the hairs off his arms and 'eyebrows' and eating them.

Sounds like a brittle star to me.
It's just doing what brittle stars do. Digging through the sand. Eating and cleaning. You'll see it again and it'll be bigger. It's one of the good guys.
Before you get too excited, try to research it to verify that it is, indeed, a brittle or serpent star. So far we've just based it on your description.

I don't have much to go on since it was extremely tiny and I only saw it for about a minute. Are there bad starfish?
Some will eat corals. Chocolate Chip Starfish for example. But Brittle and Serpent Stars are good for the tank. They dig through the sand and help keep it clean it by eating the bad stuff.
I'm assuming it is one of those two, if I ever see it again I'll try to get a closer look...Do you know anything about hidden cup corals? I still need help identifying the tiny crab I found too but I can't get a pic b/c he stays on the underside of the LR or hides in a hole.

I'm not familiar with hidden cup corals.
As far as the crab goes, there are so many different types that we really need a photo to help with identifying it.
So I woke up this morning and my mystery crab was dead! The water got down to 72 degrees somehow and I'm thinking that's why he died but I'm kinda upset, he was cool!

Don't give up quite yet. He might have only molted and what you saw was the discarded "skin". After which he will be soft for a few days and will hide till he hardens. If it was hermit, we never asked that, leave the shell in the tank for a while just in case.
