I love these fish. But what is the chance or them being stressed out and polluting the tank? and how long of a warning sign do you get before it is too late?

Does your little guy bother your corals?
I've heard cowfish aren't reef safe.

Thanks.

So far he is only bothering my sand snails, but they are quicker than him. He doesn't bother any soft corals so far. I don't have any SPS corals... I do have a bubble coral and rose anemone, and he doesn't bother them either. I'll update this in a few weeks if you like and let you know.

Good question. There is always a risk, and the question is if you are a risk taker? :) Besides from what I found out is that they kill fish, not corals. I wonder if this is true? I've had a different kind of cow that died without a reason and nothing happened.

The chance is slim to none. For them to release there toxin they have to be threatened to the point of them thinking they are going to die and even then it is a slim chance they will release there poison. All the rumors off this fish are blown way up.I have kept numerous cow and box fish over the years and nothing ever happened to any of my fish when they dies or were stressed.
