they dont look like Hydroid's.looking a little close only half the bugs are a star type bug with 5 legs.they arent moving.there is another bug that is so small i cant see any detail, they however are moving around.i guess i need to get a magnified glass to see some detail.

Hydroids thrive when there are zooplanktom blooms. Typically they will disappear naturally in a captive environment because zooplankton blooms are usually very temporary.
Occationally, a very healthy reef tank will have a never-ending zooplanktom bloom and Hydroids will persist. Manual removal is about the only thing I can recommend when this happens. I have seen Mexican Turbograzers and Keyhole Limpets eradicate Hydroids though.

Bang guy,
What is temporary? I have had these for almost a month now. They are not in overwhelming numbers but I have to wipe down the front glass a couple times a day.

If you place one in a seperate container (like a goldfish bowl) and target feed it then it should start budding off the Medusa stage fairly quickly. Then the kids can see a baby jellyfish.

I have had these guys as well for about a month now. My question is if they are bad to have in your aquarium and should I make a big effort to get rid of them? I have even seen these guys on my new fish!
