Tiny Worms???

Well i just got back in town from business and noticed that where the red algae has grown on the glass are numerous tiny tiny wormlike things crawling around. Since they are soo small i can only see them on the front glass, and they seem to be only in areas where there are patches of the algae growing. My question or questions is are these ok for the tank?? eating the algae? possibly baby snails w/o shells? copepods? If bad what gets rid of them? I dont have any snails in there yet but maybe they came from the LR. This furthers my addiction to all this since i keep noticing something new everytime i walk by the damn thing. God what would i do without you all.
thanks again everyone!

from what i've heard they are pretty good actually and i they are a blessing to the tank and are sold on fish stores on line.
but, then again i may be wronge see if anyone answers if not try your LFS!!

I have had them in my FO tank for 3 years. They appear whenever I let algae accumulate on the glass. I think they are harmless, at least that is what I was told.
At first I tried everything to get rid of them, copper, clout and just about everything else my stupid lsf sold me. Then someone on the board told me to leave them alone and just clean the glass? Duh seems pretty obvious I know... you should be fine.

Yea, they along with pods do a great job cleaning glass. I had the back of my tank covered in algae, and they progressively ate the parts away that the snails left behind. I've heard they are also a good source of food for some corals--sorta a natural plankton that gets swept off the glass by a current. My tank is getting loaded with them and pods because I don't have any fish now.
