My friend did that, he nailed his hand to a 2x6 they took the whole piece with him.

it was actually a bostitch N90 wire collated framing gun, the new version rated for LVL penetration. I got lucky and the 2"x6" board slowed most of the momentum.
good guess though, you can see the second wire collate about 3/4 of an inch above where the nail meets the flesh, the first collate is in the flesh.
