tips for Atlantic City

I'm putting together a bachelor party in early April.
The Taj Mahal wants $350 or something for a room on a friday night in April.
Anyone have any tips for cheaper casinos to stay at on the main strip?
I know there is a new place but it's further off the main strip in AC, and I don't want to stay at a Holiday Inn or something, we want to be in one of the main casinos. Thanks a lot guys.

yeah, they usually dont carry casino resorts. Usually just the Holiday Inn next to them. :)

The week before you all are heading up there. Run up there yourself, try see if their really is a limit to an American Express card while at the craps table. Regardless of if you win or lose it all, I'm sure you're get some major comps for the next weekend!

No, there is no limit. I put an entire intern convention on my Corporate AMEX. Needless to say, it was in the high five figures. Thank god my company paid the bill and I didn't have to wait a month for the reimbursement check, that would be a pain to lose on the way to the bank.:)
And craps is my game, you can usually weather the swings by starting with enough. Usually play with a few hundred, three or four hours later, I'm either a little up or at most $40 down or so, and the whole time I'm getting free drinks and food coupons.
Already have free room upgrade comps in the Taj, but don't know if that's the best value for my buddy's party. I haven't stayed anywhere else.
