Tips on catching a crab...

I have a hitcher crab that may or may not be attacking my emerald and hermit crabs. I have spotted it on several occassions at the entrance to it's lair, but never have I seen it do anything harmful. I'd like to catch it and ID it so that I know for sure. Any suggesting would be helpful.

If he's not too big you can rig a trap with a plactic 20oz.soda bottle.Cut the top off about 2 inches down.Invert that part back into the bottom half,so it looks like a funnel. Then put some bait in it and drop it into the tank.It is better to do this at night near its hideout.Crabs are usually more active at night and the fish will be sleeping.I caught mine in about 10 minutes!Good luck!

lean a tall smooth walled drinking glass against the rocks where you last saw it. Bait the glass with something meaty rubberbanded to a small rock. The crab will not be able to crawl back up the glass.

I believe I read somewhere that you can take out the rock you believe the crab is in and dip it in a tub of sw that has a high salinity and the crab will shoot out of there. Not sure if it's true.

Just take out every piece of LR in your tank. He will most likely be in one of the pieces. Take and lay out each pice on a hard surface by itself. Then procede to crush each piece with a hammer while slinging foul obsenities at it for eating 150 dollars worth of hermits and snails. When it finally comes out and raises its little claws in surrendering fashion... pick him up by his little legs... take him to the freshwater tank.. and drop him in and see how long he lives in there! Lol.........
I was almost ready to do this to the one i had but then i caught him with my net really easily one day when he was out. So i saved all my LR lol
