I have a 80 gallon glass tank and was wondering the best way about painting this, such as the best paint to use and approximately how much paint I will need to buy. I want to paint it black.

well I'm pretty sure it will take more then 1 can, and I was wondering what kind of paint, Not sure if regular paint will stick to the glass as well as something else.

Yep regular black spray paint, and I would be very suprised if one can didnt do the job. I did my 36gal bow and barly used an 1/8 of the can, 3 coats too. I used a matte finish Krylon all purpose spray.

i used 2 cans of "Painters Touch Matte Black" from Home Depot on my 55. That covered the back, and 2 sides. I did 3-4 coats, to be sure there were no holes. Be sure to line the eges of what you dont want painted with masking tape, and newspaper to cover the glass you dont want painted.

Go to an arts and crafts store and they make paint strickly for glass that requires no primer or anything. I had already set my tank up when i decided to paint it. You can also buy tiny rollers to get it on there perfect.

that is a good idea, mine is set up already as well using rollers sounds like a good idea to get behind it easier

I used regular latex paint and it works fine if you use a roller. the first coal will not look so good but after a few coats it will be okay. plus you can peel it right off with little effort!
