I'm confused, I thought you still had your 29 gallon BC?

Also, what is that really cool fish you have in this picture and how do you find those barnacle looking things?

I ended up taking this back, a Catalina gobie. he was a great addition, but Joe stated he was a cold water critter so I didn't wanna kill it so I sent it back.
The barnicles? We get those from the beach. the get washed up.
I do have the cube but its for QT'ing corals only at this time. Right now I have an aussie elegance, and the huge rock with a variety of corals on it this guy wanted gone. (20 bucks)
It's got some meteor showers, green slimer, 2 monti's, one is orange and the other purple, birds nest. They are broken off where he tried to frag them. We will see what I can do for them. In about 20 days we are taking off for Florida so I have to get this stuff in my DT before then. I am going to stay home for a day and redo my atlantis. We should Skype and you can give me live opinions! Lol

New mushrooms! I'm not sure what kind they are though???
I've had my eye on this rock for over a month now. I love the mushrooms and coralline algae on it. My mother in-law was visiting and I happened to bring her with me to pick up some RO water at my LFS. She's never been to one before so of course I just had to show her all of the cool stuff in the SW section. She took one look at that particular rock and to my delight she insisted on buying it for me!

I dipped the rock twice. I dipped it in Flatworm Exit first and then in Kent Marine Tech-D. I didn't have any Lugols Iodine or I probably would have dipped in that instead of the first two. I'm not sure what kind of mushrooms they are or if that little polyp is just a zoa (it doesn't look to healthy) or Apstasia. It's the only one on the rock, anyone have any ideas?

The two Feather Dusters I added a couple of weeks ago are doing great. Only one is open in the picture above. The one that's open is the one that currently hosts my female clownfish. It's really cute watching her wriggle around in it. The other feather duster is a little more shy and mostly likes to open up at night.

This looks like bubble algae. VERY BAD take it out of your tank asap and clean it. Brush it off and use revive or anything to clean the rocks and the corals. Very bad that can spread everywhere...
Besides that it looks like green mushroom that sorta looks like florida ricordia mushrooms. Those my lfs just sell as green mushroom rock lol. Sorry for the vague answer.
Tank is coming along nicely!

I happen to like bubble algae, it looks like marbles. One of the older books I have calls it a desirable algae, and considered decorative. Also like any macro...it removes phosphates and nitrates as you remove the extra growth (harvest). So it is up to you if you like it or not and it can become invasive. However I would not label it very bad like aptasia.

hahahahaha......so I live in Denver and the Broncos got Peyton.....but I'm not really a Broncos fan. I actually like the Jets, who unfortunately just got Tebow. He'll be useless. Then again so was Sanchez...oh well, should be an interesting year for football this fall.

Sanchez was okay, as for Tebow, he is a young QB and got thrown in and expected to fail in my opinion. I like the Colts cuz I live in Indiana but my team is the San Diego Chargers!! OHYA!

These are two very different positions....now I'm really confused

Will it cause problems or is it just a cosmetic issue?
*Flower, if I leave it in...what did you mean by "as you remove the extra growth (harvest)" Do I need to do something with it??
*Siptang - is there anything that consumes bubble algae? What's revive? Also, thanks for the tank compliment

Does anyone else have any idea as far as the bubble algae goes?? Keep it or leave it? In my opinion, the more information and viewpoints I have the better!!

Lots of folks do not like bubble algae. It is a macroalgae which means it's sort of a marine plant. It does go everywhere and spread. Like all macros it grows and consumes the phosphates and nitrates from you tanks water. Like all "plants" it grows. To keep the algae from taking over everything you must remove the extra growth. This is called harvesting, when you remove the algae, more will grow and as it grows it feeds on the phosphates and nitrates and as you remove it you are removing phosphates and nitrates. A cycle of life...Having any macroalgae and removing the extra growth will keep your tank water pristine. There are lots of different decorative macros that will all do the same thing.
Because it is a group of bubbles it's a pain in the butt to harvest, and folks got tired of it and decided there were easier macros than that stuff and it got a bad name. I personally like the way it looks, it reminds me of marbles. Others don't like the way it looks nor do they like picking bubbles out of the tank and so don't like it.
It is not a sign of bad water, like cyano or hair algae. It isn't dangerous like aptasia stinging your corals. It is just a fast growing (under certain cercumstances) macroalgae. If you like the way it looks...keep it and harvest it when it spreads to areas you don't want it in. If you decide it's too much work or you don't like it then remove it. Emerald crabs do eat it...however it grows much faster than emeralds can control it.
If you don't want it, remove the bubbles but be careful, if you burst the bubble it will spread by seeding the tank. The bubbles must be mature to do that, they are are not all that fragile. They feel like plastic to the touch until they are ready to pop and spread.
I hope that answers your questions.

Personally I do not like bubble algae. It is prolific and will spread as Sip said. As with any algae if you want to take the time to harvest it I guess you might be able to control it but the chances of controlling it are a crap shoot IMO. You see as those bubbles decide to burst, or are broken is some other manner the spore contained inside will have the chance to spread to other parts of the tank.
One of the easier ways to get rid of that is to take that rock out of the tank and remove the bubbles intact from the rock. Do not break them. You will find that they are rather rubbery hard and come off fairly easily. Try to get them all even the smallest ones. Then rinse the rock in some water you remove from the tank before reintroducing it.
Emerald Crabs have been know to eat this particular algae, but it seems that is a hit or miss type proposition. Besides IMO CRABS ARE EVIL!!!!!

+1.
Emerald crabs will spread it.

I just took out the rock with the bubble algae. I tried to pick off as many of the bubbles as I possibly could. Some were 'hard' and easy to pick off without bursting and some were soft and burst when I tried to pick them off. I got all of the bubbles that I could see....but I'm sure that there were some tiny ones that I couldn't see. I also rinsed off the rock with tank water before putting it back in the DT. Hopefully, I can keep the bubble algae at bay....
