Can anyone explain tissue narcosis a little further. I have star polyps is a 55 gallon that are secreting a brown mucus. Nitrate, Nitrite and Ammonia levels are at zero. The tank is lighted by 4 40 watt bulbs, and the polyps are placed in the upper half of the tank where they are recieving a moderate current. Any ideas whats wrong?

Sounds like there expelling algae you my need to lower them they my be getting to much light I have read that star polyps can come from lower light areas on the reef and as far as tissue nerociss it usally affects lps or sps corals and it is also called brown jelly desease it is a bacteria that eats the flesh of stony corals and it can be cured with a fresh water bath and there are some new antibiotics that can be used but I don't think star polyps can contract it.
