Hello everyone.

I have a question. So, here it is. Did you upgrade the size 29 biocubes stock lights to MH lighting?

Isn't it 2x36wt PC? You can have a nice tank with that lighting still. Many softies, some LPS, some macros, but you would be better pleased in the long term to go with a MH upgrade.
IF you have the cash go with the PFO mini pendant and a good electronic ballast like the PFO. I think it is one of the best designed pendants for nanos otu there. The reflector allows very little light spillage. Get a good bulb like a Pheonix 150wt 14k and you have an awesome light. Get a couple clip on moonlights and you are good to go.

Wish I could get a 29 gal with MH, but I know if have to buy a chiller. Esp here n west texas wiith this dang 102 degree wheeater already. Hard enough keeping my 30 Gal cool with the 250 watt halide!
Next tank Ill prolly see what these T-5's are hyped up about.I havent ever used them yet

I have the 150 watt sun pod on my 29 gal biocube. IMO no the 70 watt halide is not enough even if coupled with the PC. That is to reach the bottom of your tank. And no, I dont run a chiller, and my tanks temp has actually been more stable.

are we talking about a 70w halide inside the hood ? if so then the distance form the bulb to the sand would be like 10-12 inches max.

I have a sunpod 150 on mine and I love it.I'm in east Texas and I have to watch the temp but I have had it over 2 years and no problems.Go for it and if the temps get to high just drop frozen water bottle in the back. The Sunpod 150 is the one you want.
Good luck.

The tank is 20" high to the rim if you had a 5" SB then yea 15" to the bottom, if its an in hood installment. I have a 1" SB with the sunpod 150.

Will the 2x36 watt PC, and a 70 watt MH be enough for a bubble tip anemone if I place it higher up in the tank like in the middle or on top?
