To Maximize My Lighting

I have a 14g biocube which gives me 2x24w PC Bulbs... I have a 24inch PC hood which is longer then the tank by a few inches on each side but give me 2x65w PC bulbs... is it worth just laying that hood over the biocube and removing the biocube hood to maximize my wpg?

IMO it should work. Also as an added bonus you might be able to keep the cube a little cooler if there would be an opening for the water to the air. You could also put a fan there to offset the extra heat from the 2x65W lights...

the hood is thin so i have a good ammount of space front to back about a hands length on each side of open water and the hood has a built in fan... my anemone and ric's seem to be loving it already. Im wondering how many wpg im getting... might want to try a sps
