Is it possible to have to much filtration?
The tank im planning on building will be between 50-70 gallons and I was considering a seaclone 150 protein skimmer, is this to powerul? i know they make a 100 for 100 gallon tanks but i would think you cant have to much filtration?

so the seaclone 150 would be fine in a 50 gallon tank?
Anyone have any comments on Seaclone protein skimmers?

If you want a anemone then you are going to need EXCELLENT water quality. And your tank needs to be 6months established.

No,i dont think so. I think sumps are wet/dry. but the emporer is very important......well to my tank it is. The filteration i have is a Empor.400 and a seaclone. I do 5gal water changes evry week....just to be on the safe side. You should be good with the seaclone and a emporer400.........but if you want a sump then ask around.

A refractometer measures how much the water bends light (refractive index.)
A hydrometer measures how much the water weighs (specific gravity.)
Neither measurement is useful by itself, for saltwater aquarium purposes, both get converted into salinity. Refractometers are generally recingized as being more accurate measures of salinity than hydrometers. You only need one, unless you want the hydrometer on the side for a wine making operation.
