I have 3 maxi jets that are 295gph....they are on timers and are very random in flowing and have the cut off end modification...
295gph protien skimmer
and about 150 gph from main tank to fuge and back up
I am building a huge custom skimmer that is going to be around 756 gph......i am going to make the output a spray bar of aboyt 16 holes that cover half of the tank...so that is about 50gph in each hole...(the wholes are bout 1.2 inches apart)
i am supracting about 100 gph because the powerheads are not at full working order...on is a little clogged
and this is a turnover rate of about 32X is this to much???

I think its hard to have too much flow, if you have wavemaker timers they should be timed long enough apart so that the change in current direction is gradual enough to give it a swaying action instead of a jerking motion...watch your softies and time it right.

no wavemaker...they are on timers...and they aren't time to great..sometimes big flow and sometimes litlle....(there is a bigger flow during the day and slower at night)
and it is a little jerky but the best i could do for my price

No such thing as too much flow...
No such thing as too much skimmer...
No such thing as (having) too much money...
No such thing as a car too fast...
Or a girl too pretty...
No such thing as having too much fun...
