ok guys here is my 411. i made my own overflow. The demi's are exact to a 600 gph u-tube overflow. i am using a 1700 rio... and here is my problem with my rio wide open and nothing blocking my drain tube to much air flows down the tube and it makes a burbing sound. if i block the drain tube and try to tone down my rio i get a overflow. here is my question is there is a way to quite down my overflow box and still have plenty of flow

do you have any type of filter in over flow box around tubes?
a valve after box to regulate?
also when the water in the box rushes in does it get close to bot?
ie. cause exess bubbles that will acumulate at entry of drop tube
and restrict water flow [burp]your tooth spacing may be insuficiant.
just my .02cents

try and use a 90 degree elbow in the drain. it should reduce the nosie also you can make a stand pipe to hook to the drain it is a about 8 inches long put a T in it with a 90 and then put an end cap on with a hole drilled in the top to allow a tiny bit of air in.
i will try to take a pic at lunch today
