To Scrub LR or Not To Scrub LR

I think an occasional blast from a baster is all that is needed.
After years I have found many neat critters appear on my rocks that scrubbing would or most likely have prevented never then from showing up...Many Sponges, Palys Zoas, Dusters and such.....
I would never think of scrubbing my rocks once the tank was established.
Here are a few shots from the past (taken over the years )of those pretty Sponges Cloves, Dusters and the such showing up in a spots not seeded or planted on.
Scrubbing would have prevented them "taking seed" ........Good Luck Reefing....Warren

I scrub my live rock one a week with a tooth brush.
Is there any reason not to scrub your LR?
Why would you scrub your rock?

The idea is to get life to grow on it. A cleanup crew would starve if you have no growth.

I scrub mine with a tooth brush to encourage the growth and spred of coralline, but other than that i would see no reason to scrub your LR

Hey Joe, Yea I had read the article in your post.........Good info. I just posted shots of black stuff I had a fight with a couple of years back on that thread.............
If you where looking at my bottom shot thinking there was some or the same stuff there, I think the odd colors are all Sponge. Anytime I see black in my tank Ian suspect after the bout with "Black Stuff" a couple of years back. That is a rock that was recently turned around and that side had been in partial darkness for the last year or so. Thanks............ Warren
