To skim or not to skim?

Need some input on the topic of keeping my skimmer on when I feed my corals, I already have and idea what the answer is but here it is any way. I bought new skimmer a daltec copy by D.A.S. it works great; I kept it running 24/7 and started to see a decline in my corals. Is my skimmer skimming out my phytoplankton that I’m feeding at the same time getting the other bad waste out? So I stopped my skimmer for a couple days and feed the tank and they all perked up. Sooooo how long should I leave the skimmer off when feeding the corals? I put my skimmer on a timer and skim in the early morning for about 4 hours a day, is this enough or too little. I still feel its skimming out the phytoplankton before the corals have time to use what’s in the tank. What do yall do? :help: :notsure:

I dont skim for 4 hours after dosing DT. I feed DT about 3 times a week right after the lights are out. After reading your result, I might consider not skimming to 6 or 8 hours.

i leave mine on 24/7.... to much of a hasle to turn on and off and i figured the corals can eat when i feed and by the time the skimmer gets it anyways they shouold be done
