Toadstool Frag Needs Your Help For Attachment

HI, we have a very small toadstool leather that appeared very healthy when we bought it...it still is, but when we were trying to place it in the tank, the small thin base of it snapped right off, so now looks like a mushroom top with no bottom! still appears ok, for the last 2 days we find it just unsteady..we tried to rubber band it on the bottom to a small rock..there were a couple of small shells that were stuck to the bottom, but they have since pulled free and he got loose and fell...poor guy! Our lfs said to turn him over and place the small rock on one of his corners on the bottom of him for about 2/3 days and it probably will attach, is this ok< seems strange to have him upside down on the rock.....with a small rock sitting on part of it, is this ok? he is still putting out his little polyps at this point...He is solid now and not going anyhwhere, just want to do the right thing.....

If there is enough stalk showing, you can just wedge it between 2 rocks and it will attach itself as long as it is sturdy and not able to wiggle in the current.
If that doesn't work, you can poke a hole about 1/4" from the bottom and put fishing line through it and tie it to a rock. It will take a week at most to be attached well.

well we put that small frag rock on it last night and it is looking even hardy and fine upside down, the part that does not have a rock sitting on it is trying to turn towards to light and all the feeders are up...pretty cool..I think this will work

How's it doing now? If it doesn't take the method you're trying right now,you can always use superglue. Worked for my shrooms! I'd think the feeders still being out is a good sign.

doing great!!! feeders still out..we have it solid under a small frag rock but on its one side..so the other side sticks out towards us and doing much better than we ever expected. We were told to leave it there for about 3-5 days, will probably leave it until the end of the weekend and pray it stays on!!
