Toadstool Leather ?

 I just received my toadstool leather today from SWF. It is acclimating now. It didn't come attached to a rock. How should I place it? Thanks for the help.

It will reattach itself rather quickly.. couple of days..
I would just use a rubberband or netting and fix it to the piece of LR you wish to start it on..
I would let it rest in a spot with medium lighting and low flow area for at least 2 days.. Then move it to the location you want...
PS you dont have to try and attach the entire stalk.. Just having part of the base touching the LR is enough for the coral to attach itself completely over the next few days.

One other question. I have tried to position it so it will stand up with the top toward the light but I'm not having any luck. Will the top go toward the light on it's own?

Here's one I got 2 weeks ago from swf.com. It is opening nicely now. It went through a shed like they sometimes do but seems healthy now. It came attached on a small piece of live rock and even had another coral attached on for free. Anyone know what the second smaller coral is? I might start a new thread if know one knows on this one.

Here's a close up of the free hitchhiking coral. It is difficult to get it in focus because of the piece of live rock in front of it.

It is a tan color. I looked up trumpet coral but it does not look like that. My two coral books (Fenner and Julian Sprung) don't have hidden cup coral listed so I couldn't look that one up. They primarily have scientific names. I am obviously not a coral expert.
I'll try to describe it better. The coral has a one inch stalk. It has a 1 1/2 inch smooth flattish top with numerous florettes around the perimeter. Each florette is around 4-5 mm in size and has numerous (~20) small tentacles surrounding a off white base. It is sitting on its side in the picture.
I am wondering about cutting it off and attaching it to another piece of live rock but wanted some ID before I did that.

I did a search on these boards for hidden cup coral and didn't see anything like this. The most distinctive thing about the shape is the smooth flat top with all the polyps around the periphery.
Thanks for trying Carole! BTW, I'll be in Orlando for a wedding the end of next month. Do you know anywhere I might be able to get some pulsing xenia? The local stores don't seem to have it and I know it doesn't ship well. I would hope to pick it up on the evening of June 26th before my return flight the next morning.

No problem. Speaking of the toadstool leather, I was surprised mine didn't come on some kind of a rock. They usually send all the corals that I have received on some type of rock. Hopefully it will attach soon.
