isit normal for a leather toadstool to contract the "tenticals?" when i turn off the lights??? not all of them go in bout id say 70% of them do. i dont have a moon light but the light in the room next to it is always on so there is still a little light.

yeah. corals open up to get food and sunlight, kind of like a leaf or solar panel. it takes energy for them to be open, so they close when there is no light to save energy.

Maybe it's not in the mood to open...Really I have one and every day it seems different. I would only worry if it NEVER opens, and starts to look like it is melting.

Well w/o knowing anything about your tank or lights, I really can't answer that. They are supposed to have medium light and medium flow.

How long have you had it? It does take them awhile to establish, and if its newly introduced, it may just be adjusting. Here's mine after I cleaned the tank.
