Everything in my rapids pro is right out of the box. After reading I am thinking about ditching the Bio Balls for Live Rock rubble. Is this a good idea?
Also, if anyone else has any mods they did to there Rapids Pro I would be interested in hearing them!
I want to avoid the constant cost of the filters as well... maybe I should just look at the ROI and get a Sump/Fuge.

i had one.....you always have to add topoff water to it. I had it for 6month then made a 20 gallon sump/fuge but i kepted the overflow box and pump. By the way the skimmer does not work.

Just about everything that comes with it is low quality. I believe it's been discontinued you should look into getting a sump/fugi instead.

SKimmer has been working fine for me just a little touchy to setup.
